Accessibility-Related Reporting Options
The George Washington University ("GW" or "university") is committed to providing qualified individuals with disabilities access to participate in its educational programs and activities, and employment opportunities, on an equal basis; in addition, the university is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to maintaining a nondiscriminatory, harassment–free, diverse work and educational environment.
Below is an overview of accessibility-related reporting options available to members of the GW community.
Accommodation Appeals
Disability Support Services (DSS) supports qualified students with a disability in need of a reasonable accommodation. Equal Employment Opportunity and Access (EEOA) supports qualified employees with reasonable accommodations because of disability in employment. If an individual wishes to appeal an accommodation determination, they should follow the procedures outlined in the Disability Policy.
Barriers to Accessibility
If an individual experiences a barrier that affects their ability to access GW facilities, events, services, websites, or other digital content, they can file a report via the Barrier to Accessibility Report Form. If escalation is needed to address an identified barrier to accessibility, the report will be brought forward to the Accessibility Committee. The Accessibility Committee will review the concern and make a remediation recommendation to leadership for final determination.
Reporting Disability Discrimination/Harassment
A report of discrimination or harassment on the basis of disability, covered under the Equal Opportunity, Nondiscrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Non-Retaliation Policy, can be submitted via the Discrimination, Harassment, and Bias Report Form. The complaint will be addressed via the Discrimination, Harassment, and Related Retaliation Complaint Procedures.
